I’ve upgraded my Gigabyte Aero 15x laptop and will go through the full process here, showing what I’ve done, the hardware I picked and explain why. I’ll be repasting the CPU and GPU with thermal grizzly kryonaut and covering temperatures and performance before and after the repaste, adding in a new M.2 SSD, upgrading the WiFi card, and upgrading the memory from single channel to a dual channel configuration.
Here are the parts that I bought for the upgrade:
2x G.Skill Ripjaws 16GB DDR4 2666 memory (do not buy two of these, as listed in the video two do not seem to work, despite Gigabyte’s support documentation claiming otherwise): F4-2666C18S-16GRS

Someone else reported the same results using the exact same memory configuration I had here, there are some other suggestions for RAM that is actually compatible too (such as HX426S15IB2K2/32): http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/official-gigabyte-aero-15-owners-lounge.804575/page-324#post-10802606
