my mac blocks the app saying "can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer". I altered the security & privacy already but no use. It's OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6. What shall I do?
IMineBlocks (1 year ago)
If you goto Finder > Applications Then hold click or right click on the app you want to open. Then select open. You should see a dialogue that allows you to approve the running of the program.

interestingly, Sia is blocked as well, the same with MaidSafe.

Hello Lee. i have 500TB sat here that I could point at the above service. (Yes Five Hundred ) But looking at StorjShare vs SiaCoin vs Burst Coin I find the lack of hard financial figures on earnings to be rather off putting. I've estimated that Storj would provide £3.91 profit per TB per month but not one of any of the above projects has given any reply to any email inquiry. It is hard to take these people seriously when I'm willing to point 15 grands worth (GDP) kit towards them and can't get an ounce of proper data on the ROI. Not being in the business of burning electricity for nothing can you shed any light on my currently cynical view of these operations. What would you do in my situation?
IMineBlocks (1 year ago)
A lot of capital is needed to start up. But in years 2-3+ everything is paid for and the running costs will be little. Hard drives are very reliable and don't think many will go faulty.

Thank you Lee. Lets crunch some numbers. Looking at the BurstCoin Calc. A 5TB drive will generate =$1.65 per week. At today's exchange rate that's GB £1.31. Average Cost of 5TB £109.00 Retail. Thus you break even on Week 83 (Just the drive cost) Machine to operate 24/7. So. We have a 2 year Warranty leaving just 21 weeks to operate in profit with some kind of safety net so, 21 weeks x £1.31. = £27 quid for 2 years of 24/7 operation. Factor in Electricity and Value of used HD after 24 months, all based on a currency that fluctuates in value. Am I missing something because this seems like a simply terrible operation. Now if we were looking at what Amazon charge for 1TB per month, as much as I despise Bozo you can see that these startups wanting to charge 2 quid are going to get nailed. Obviously we can x10 the figures for 50TB So, £109x10 = £1090.00 for drives (alone) £270.00 payback gross. Let alone motherboards, mem, PSU's, MY TIME etc... and my 500TB...No mate. I just don't see the point. Who is going to take any of this seriously with these pathetic returns ( or losses ? ) I've done a spread sheet on Storj but those people provide no solid figures but appear much better from the initial blurb. But if they dont operate in a way that wants a decent amount of TB per small host like me whats the point? As things stand me old mucker I'm not convinced in this business unless I'm missing something and I hope I am because I would love to help kick amazons butt.

I would recommend you do a small test on each network and use that for future reference. However I've already done this for you and can tell you that Burst is the best for larger capacity miners, then Storj upto 1TB and then Sia.

IMineBlocks (1 year ago)
I check a few different place Bitcointalk (announcments), Twitter follow a few crypto people & the facebook group crypto currency collectors club. These will keep you in the loop.
THNX Mr. Lee!! i got storjshare running for almost a month(!!!) and i have only 2.1 Gb used from my 600Gb shared....and of course 0 storjcoins ....what do you think about that??

i've been using precisely that coinwarz to manage the posible profits and ethhash and equihash seems to gone really low in profitability =/
IMineBlocks (1 year ago)
Pretty much Ethash or Equihash algo coins. Take a look on coinwarz or whattomine. Storj has been paying well considering the low power usage and harddrive space it uses.

Thanks for another great informative video! I've been running storj for about two weeks now on two computers. 100GB on a windows pc and 25GB on a Linux one. The windows pc is still having activity at about 71% filled and the linux is at about 58%. The Linux one seems to have stopped getting any contracts for several days now. Perhaps its stuck. I've tried restarting it and reloading too. No change. Im interested to see if I get any payout from this. Do you have any idea when the next payout should be?
Max Martin (1 year ago)
IMineBlocks curious if Storj is still paying about 1 coin to 1 GB...? Approximately? Their calc is not online
IMineBlocks (1 year ago)
I think they do the payments after the 18th of each month.
