In the video i show my own personal overclock settings for my gtx 1060 6gb if these settings helped you don't forget to leave a like thanks guys. This video is mainly mean't for beginners who don't want to increase the core clock limit of the gpu as i got asked many questions as if it was possible to overclock at all without increasing it so i made this video. ►Affiliate With GreenManGaming Get Cheap Games Here: http://www.greenmangaming.com/?tap_a=1964-996bbb&tap_s=51890-013888 ►Wanna Apply For a Partnership? At +125 core clock assassins creed odyssey crashes occasionally. Any resolution? I have Msi gaming x edition.
My GTX 1060 6GB KFA2 OC gets extra +2 fps on settings:Core clock +100, Memory clock: +600 like averege 60 on Furmark, but on u'rs CC +150 and MC +500 is 58.Why ?
Sting Rey (1 day ago)
i don't use furmark never did.

thx man! great overclock! works on my gtx 1060 6 gb asus dual !

Holy fuck! I have 1060 MSI Gaming X . I reached 900 memory clock , 185 core clock! I'm feeling so lucky😄 . In M.E : Shadow of Mordor . Ultra setting I reached 141 fps average (253highest) NONE OVERCLOCK benchmark. I'm too lazy to retest with OC . Because it's more than enough for me
Thor Invincible TO (1 month ago)
Hi, I'm new to this thing. Your graphics card is by Asus but you are using MSI afterburner... Why? It will be very kind of your reply
Thor Invincible TO (1 month ago)
+Sting Rey thanks for the reply!
Sting Rey (1 month ago)
msi afterburner is what is used to overclock any card no matter the brand.

I can get the memory speed up by 700mhz the clock speed 150mhz anymore and both setting cause artifacts and crashes my benchmark wont go higher than 1494 even overclocked I think its because I have an old i7 930 and the ram is 1066mhz it causes hiccups
Beast 86 (2 months ago)
1. Does it get in bad condition after sometime? 2.does it oc the zotac 1060 6gb(I'm sorry im new to high end gaming) 3.Does this goes over temperature?

I overclocked my 1060 6g to +170 on the core and +750mhz on memory i have samsung memory and it is very stable. no crashes whatsover.

You can earn just the little powerboost u need with a 1060gtx when you do this to keep it more stable in some games on higher settings.. My asus 1060 GB has a sweet spot of Powerlimit : 110 Coreclock : +140 Mem : +550 Tempt: Never above 75 while playing 4 hours of destiny 2 Everything i clock more than this makes it less stable and you only earn 2-3 fps more by going much higher with the clocks so its not worth it.. Well maybe for you, but not for me ;) By doing this earned and extra 10fps in heavens benchmark
Jacob Galloways Gaming (3 months ago)
Hello Im getting my memoery clocked at 900 MHZ and my core clock a 110MHZ thats the best i can get
Katlyn Celentano (3 months ago)
My stock memory clock is 4000 MHz.. how are you at 2500 MHz?

I buyed auros 1060 6gb and is shit it gets hot as fuck and there are 4 fans in the case
Petar Stankovic (3 months ago)
How on earth did you set memory to +500!? I have MSI 1060 6 GB Gaming X and I cranked up core clock +180 and it's completely stable, but as soon as I set memory speed to anything above +300, games crash in first 30-40 minutes of playing and even some benchmarks crash before completing which is usually <15 minutes. Ended up with +180 / + 280 and it's stable for now, tortured GPU with Witcher 3 for 6 hours straight on basically max usage and no problems. But that +500...
Sting Rey (3 months ago)
no games are fine no issues.
Petar Stankovic (3 months ago)
Nope, its memory is not overclocked and was intact, like stock founders edition. Only core clock speed was factory OCed by literally 63/76 core and boost. Memory is overclocked only by 50 MHz if you use MSI software and set it to OC mode, but even if say that is the case, I'd max overclock by +330 and you did yours by +500... Do your games crash if you utilize GPU 100% for over 40 minutes?
Sting Rey (3 months ago)
your gpu is already overclocked that is why mine is overclocked however it is not automatically overclocked the the most it can do yours is a top of the line 1060 so thats why.
opethandoceans (3 months ago)
Wait, how many times did you run the benchmarks?
Sting Rey (3 months ago)
each benchmark was run 3 times on each game.
Fumble Mybees (4 months ago)
I'm trying this overclock with my 1060, but I realize that my power limit only extends to 114%, not 116%. However my core voltage slider is unlocked (kept at +0 for the time) . Is this fine?
Sting Rey (4 months ago)
Yep you can push 1060's really good.
Fumble Mybees (4 months ago)
Sting Rey Thanks for your video and swift feedback. This GPU overclocks amazingly and handles games in 1440p pretty strongly
Sting Rey (4 months ago)
with the settings i showed you don't need to raise the core voltage at all.
ViVa Assyria (4 months ago)
My GPU is %99 when i do a benchmark even when iam playing that's crazy
Nemesi (3 months ago)
Benchmarks use as much as possible anyway, if every game you play uses 99% - 100% that's not necessarily bad, however you will need to invest in a better cpu to even out those numbers. If you're a heavy gamer, the 99% - 100% usage constantly will significantly reduce the lifespan of your card, especially if it's reaching high temps as well
Sting Rey (4 months ago)
it is suppose too.
stuart h (4 months ago)
MSI afterburner is no longer allowing adjustment of 4/6 sliders.... only core clock and memory clock sliders move on my MSI apache pro 054 (ge72vr6rf)
Sting Rey (4 months ago)
no it does you just have to change some settings can't remember which ones.
Sky Marbles (4 months ago)
you get instability because you should use the Core Voltage to get more juice u Noob! , and never lower your fan speed guys , always leave it at auto
ĸaѕperły (2 months ago)
Can you make a video then please
Sky Marbles (4 months ago)
SpitfireOW deppends, overclock without increasing voltage until u start getting crashes, then slowly increase voltage until the OC is stable again
SpitfireOW (4 months ago)
how much would you increase the core voltage
Sky Marbles (4 months ago)
there is a difference between attacking someone and constructive criticism ...

I put in the description when uploading the video "In the video i show my own personal overclock settings for my gtx 1060 6gb if these settings helped you don't forget to leave a like thanks guys. This video is mainly mean't for beginners who don't want to increase the core clock limit of the gpu as i got asked many questions as if it was possible to overclock at all without increasing it so i made this video."
Bad Player (4 months ago)
60 degree is actually very unhealthy
Sting Rey (4 months ago)
Nah it's no issue i should have specified better in the video.
Bad Player (4 months ago)
Sting Rey oh okay sry for the hate
Sting Rey (4 months ago)
adding more fans would do nothing to the setup the pc already has 3 fans in total and many other things go into play into that the temp of the room you are in where you have your pc placed etc. idle my gpu is between 30-40 you will see in the video when i apply the overclock the gpu temp on msi is just staying at 35-38 idle and when i play games and it goes to 100% usage then it hits 60.
Bad Player (4 months ago)
Sting Rey well if I get 60 degree idle , I will probably add two extra fan
Sting Rey (4 months ago)
No 60 is fine you can look at gpu limitis on aftermarket gpus and see that my specific gpu 80 would be bad.

By any chance have you done this test on Overwatch? I've never overclocked my 1060 6gb, but I am tempted to play around with some settings if I can see it yields good results like in the games you showed in this video.
Sting Rey (6 months ago)
no problem thanks for checking out the video :)
solfizz (6 months ago)
Thanks for getting back to me!
Sting Rey (6 months ago)
overwatch fps doesn't really go that much higher when overclocked about maybe a 8 fps increase when i tried.
mTn (6 months ago)
i wont oc the gpu bc it decreases the min. FPS that means u got higher fps drops
Sting Rey (6 months ago)
the min was not working correctly during the recording and messed up.

My fan speed wont let me change it . it just resets
Andre Correia (8 months ago)
i have it tivked
Sting Rey (8 months ago)
Yes in order for it not to do that you have to set it then press "startup" icon and that will apply the fan speed and overclock at startup.
Andre Correia (8 months ago)
whenever i turn off my pc the fan speed just resets
Sting Rey (8 months ago)
you got to make sure you uncheck where it says "auto"
J Boy (9 months ago)
i overclocked my 1060 6gb; PUBG now crashes. could it be because of overclock?
NextWorld VR (7 months ago)
J Boy No, you need a new power cable.
CJ-GAMER (8 months ago)
J Boy did you change power limit??
Sting Rey (9 months ago)
Yes chances are you overclocked too much.
Hogarth The Magician (9 months ago)
can i leave fan speed on auto?
Sting Rey (9 months ago)
You can but the gpu get's pretty hot.
Bick Brick (9 months ago)
Working the same on my pc with GTX 1060 3gb and i3 4160 3.60 the same!
GhOsTeX (10 months ago)
just a quick question before I overclock does it matter what type of cpu I have or could I have the same overclock settings on the graphics card anyways? I am new to this.
GhOsTeX (10 months ago)
cant use the same settings anyway. so I will probably lower some settings.
Sting Rey (10 months ago)
Overclocking your gpu has nothing to do with your cpu.
Zakxp312 (10 months ago)
Is a score of 1718 good? With an FPS of 68.2
Zakxp312 (10 months ago)
Sting Rey When u say u don’t overclock it for pubg do u use the default preset on MSI afterburner or a different setting? Btw thx for the replies!
Sting Rey (10 months ago)
Same 1060 but i don't Overclock it.
Zakxp312 (10 months ago)
Sting Rey btw I have a question r u running pubg on the same 1060 and OC settings u show here?
Sting Rey (10 months ago)
what settings you running it on?
Zakxp312 (10 months ago)
If I copy your settings using ASUS GPU tweak2 will it be the same?
Sting Rey (10 months ago)
You would have to reduce the fan speed on it also gtx 1060 are the most known recent gpu to have coil wine aka loud fans.
Zakxp312 (10 months ago)
Sting Rey I just have a question my graphics card is pretty loud do you know how to get it more silent?
Sting Rey (10 months ago)
Yes it should.
Reaped (10 months ago)
My gpu temp is 85 degrees is this bad?
Fumble Mybees (4 months ago)
sounds a tad toasty. I'd say dont let it go into the 90s
Sting Rey (10 months ago)
Depends on your gpu model also would recommend running your fan speeds at %40 or %50
Arytadss (10 months ago)
Before OC battlefield 1 80 fps on ultra after oc 30 fps on ultra. I returned regular settings, still lagging
Sting Rey (10 months ago)
What cpu do you have bf1 is very high on cpu usage.
Panda Liebhaber x3 (10 months ago)
Hey! i have the Asus Dual-GTX1060-6G not the OC version :c i'm scared that i baught the wrong card :c is it that BAD? D:
Sting Rey (10 months ago)
You won't gain much fps my version only gets like 10 or so more fps then you.
Atmosphere (10 months ago)
Sting Rey my other Account v.v so i won't lose much fps? Normal its on 1706 or something, i can boost it to around 1850?? (+150) or can i go higher? D:
Sting Rey (10 months ago)
Panda Liebhaber x3 No it is only a couple mhz slower but it is still a 1060 Honestly if you overclocked it to what mine is normally it would only get you about 5 fps more or so.
Panda Liebhaber x3 (10 months ago)
Hmm, my friend said that the card is so much weaker :c but my question is.. can i boost it higher ? o:
Sting Rey (10 months ago)
It's still a good gpu :) don't worry about it
Abhishek Sathe (11 months ago)
I applied exact settings. I have Gigabyte Gtx1060 6Gb G1 gaming GPU. And ran stress test on MSI KOMBUSTOR for about 1hr. I can confirm that gpu usage is around 90-93%. And i have set my fan speed of 65% and temps are in between 65-72 degree Celsius on FULL load
Sting Rey (11 months ago)
Nice.
Simao Nunes (1 year ago)
i got better score than you i5 6500 gtx 1060 6 gb score: 1745
Simao Nunes (1 year ago)
same
Sting Rey (1 year ago)
yes i can too my highest score i managed to get is 1800 but it is not stable for all and every game/program.
Simao Nunes (1 year ago)
i pushed my gpu a litle bit more and i got 1786 score
Sting Rey (1 year ago)
your cpu runs on a newer socket. and i can get a higher score just if you push it higher i notice some games and editing programs stop working.
Simao Nunes (1 year ago)
youre cpu is faster than mine ure is 3.3 ghz and my is 3.2 ghz
Simao Nunes (1 year ago)
anti alias?

Should I upgrade my 780 SC to a 1060 6GB for 1200p 60fps?
GHOSTI (1 year ago)
will this damage your chip overtime
tieuquy linthinh (2 months ago)
+Cozmics HD in 3-4 years you still can play at 900p résolution with high settings with 6gb vram
Cozmics HD (2 months ago)
Yea but it would take about 3-4 years to “destroy it” but by then you would probably want to buy a new gpu because it would be outdated
tieuquy linthinh (2 months ago)
Sting Rey unless it was you oc *Voltage* but pascal card locked the voltage
Zac Hughes (1 year ago)
no
Sting Rey (1 year ago)
overclocking reduces the lifespan of your gpu but by then you will prob have another gpu becuase that gpu won't give you the performance you want anymore also sorry for the late reply never got a notification about this comment.

Sting Rey (1 year ago)
This is a Asus Dual GTX 1060 OC overclock yes
J.J. Lorenzo (1 year ago)
Honestly don't know how you got those numbers for both no oc and oc :\ I'm running on i5 6500, gtx 1060 6gb windforce oc and my scores don't even compare. No OC: FPS-55.2 Score-1390 Min FPS-22.9 Max FPS-69.2. OC: FPS-57.2 Score-1440 Min FPS-17.4 Max FPS-66.4, both running in the same settings. Kinda new into PC, games running on high but I would like that extra boost in gpu. Help me out? All sorts of confusy :\
Sting Rey (1 year ago)
yea i just have mine set to 2.
J.J. Lorenzo (1 year ago)
What about Maximum pre-rendered frames? Leave it at default?
Sting Rey (1 year ago)
FAST-SYNC - De-coupled rendering and monitor refresh. VSYNC OFF but the monitor will only render completely rendered frames, thus eliminating tearing (MINOR input lag but NO TEARING! ) also it is monitor agnostic so it will work with any screen. It is analogous to hardware triple buffering but does not back-pressure the render pipeline.
J.J. Lorenzo (1 year ago)
What does fast do ?
Sting Rey (1 year ago)
don't set it to adaptive instead set it to "fast"
