This computer doesn't contain any Serial ATA devices. If you installed Serial ATA devices, make sure they are connected properly and powered on. ???

Thanks so much Ceadd L. That was super easy and crystal clear. I don't have a password set for the Mac User. So when I enter the command in the terminal it asks for password, but as I have no password set, I just hit ENTER (like I do when I login my user without password) on boot but it gives error saying "Invalid password". Can u please tell me what to do in case of no password set. Really appreciate!

Thank you for the video, I have Macbook Pro Mid 2012 with Crucial MX100 256GB SSD installed in. Since I'm not using the optical drive that much, I'm thinking about installing another SSD for storage; or to relocat my home user folder in it, which will move my iTunes music, my Apple Office documents, and iPhotos. The question will Trim effect both the SSDs?

Hi, I wanted to enable trim back when Yosemite was out and I read all over the internet that in some cases like spontaneous mac reboot it would cause the mac to be completely unusable and you would have to go in the Disk Utility and kinda reinstall everything back from a backup... Is this problem fixed? Does trim not cause kernel panics anymore?
handsome luke (2 years ago)
can I use the app Trim enabler open in same time or is it useless?

Look compatibility of your equipment on this website https://www.tonymacx86.com/ I'm sure you can work with OSX Ubuntu, Debian, Mint ...... are very slow, and are out of date Best Linux server Business (Facebook,Google...) but not PC
Danang Widiantoro (2 years ago)
Song thrush is it safe? I mean the OS stay up to date like the real one... I have PC with xeon 12 cores and 64gb ram, I am using ubuntu because I thought that was the only choise I have (windows is not an option)
velfisadri (2 years ago)
If there will be new OS update trim will not cause any problems in future?
velfisadri (2 years ago)
ty for help :)
Ceadd L (2 years ago)
+velfisadri it won't cause issues in future updates but Apple has been known to reverse or reset the trim function in some updates so you should always check and verify trim is enabled after each major 10.12.x release. Just rerun the code from this video if you ever should need to.

Be prepared to wait a looooooong time after terminal says it will reboot your mac. Maybe 5 minutes or so in some cases.
veyban (2 years ago)

veyban (2 years ago)

Ceadd L (2 years ago)
+veyban nope, my MacPro has an SSD and three regular hard drives. This won't effect the harddrives
