In this video I take you through all the steps to getting Awesome Miner up and running on your computer using miningpoolhub.com. I also show you how you can make your own custom pools if you only want to mine specific coins. The bottom line is a setup that automatically switches to the most profitable coin in your pool. You also have control over how your are paid. The auto exchange feature on miningpoolhub.com lets you choose which coin you'd like to use for payouts.
A special thanks for all who commented on my last video. Your input was a big help.

Yeah, there's a new version now and it works a bit differently than when I made this video...I might be able to do an update video sometime in the future, but for now, go to the Options | Profit Switching page and in that new window at the bottom, just click on add button and choose add existing pool group.
respected sir i see your every video....plz i humble request to make video on custom upload mining software in awesome miner like enegy miner for nrg coin....make on this coin manual upload video...i wait your video.....
I have 12 nvidia cards 1060 6 GB and I only make £2 - £2.5/day. Is something wrong as it was very difficult to set it up. was giving me a lot of error messages, I had to deactivate some miners and re-benchmark it twice.
Im a newbie at this but when i did mine it stars to work and then my laptop goes blank and i can't see or do anything do you know what im doing wrong?? i not using Mining Pool Hub yet i tryd to make awesome minner mine staight into my bitcoin wallet i put my bitcoin address into awesome minner im with wirex plz help?? i don't know what im doing lol.
Hey Goose, ive been watching your videos and followed it all through but im still having problems with awesome miner, seen your video about problems and it isnt in there, it all seems to run correctly but it never gets past a line of code stating API running in ip access mode any ideas?
Thanks for the very informative video, have a question if anyone can answer it I would have appreciated. My mining stop do to this message (Application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware).
I use 2 Nvidia 1080 Ti, Everything has been updated but the problem still there. please help thanks
Don't know if this is the right place to ask this, I would like to autoswitch pools from my z9, currently using two pools, pool 1 is set to mining pool hub using port 17033 (the equishah coins switch from time to time), pool 2 is set to BCI coin. Everything is set and running however in awesome miner I need to define a coin per each pool in order to be able to autoswitch based on the statistics, here now my question since pool 1 may be some times (zen, zclassic or zcash) is no way for me to define a unique coin, if I put undefined equihash coin, do you think awesome miner will know when to switch between pool 1 and pool 2?
Excellent video, I would like to ask you a question, I did everything exactly but I have a problem. I have 2 vegas 56 and 64, when I use just one everything run perfect but when I try to use both cards everything get freeze, and I have to shut my pc down and restart it, any Idea why I can not use both cards? Thanks
Great video Goose-Tech Great thanks. am mining ethereum and i set it up like your previous vid but Please why my Awesome miner keep minning but show no profit per day 0.00 or month 0.00 .i gat 2 share on minning everything normal .is it normal or can you say why?.
Great vid, well explained, even if I didn't understand parts of it. I particularly don't understand how you get to find out which is the best ones to mine for your card. I also don't know how to find out which Algo each coin uses. Any sources would be greatly appreciated.
I had a trojangen2 pop up after starting my benchmark. this seems worrysome. Kind of a novice. anyone experience anything similar with their machine? Thanks for the vid. Never would have figured this out on my own.
Most mining engines cause anti-virus programs to pop up a warning. This is because there are clandestine mining programs running all over the internet. The only way to avoid the warnings is to exclude the following folder: %localappdata%\AwesomeMiner
Kindly assist. Anytime I start the Miner i receive an error

Hey goose what’s up? I can’t figure out why the customized pool I set up isn’t working when I select them all to mine. When I select them individually some work and some don’t. The ones that do not work: equihash algorithms, neoscrypt, lyra2rev2, and some others. The ones that do work are mostly ethash: Ethereum, etc, and exp. I followed your instruction step by step and did everything correct. Also I am using Nvidia 1070 ti. Any help is appreciated...thank you for the videos!!
Goose-Tech you are the man!!!! I wasn’t putting the dot and filling in the rest of my worker name! Appreciate your teaching skills that make it easy to understand for even me with very little tech knowledge. Peace
That would be awesome! Thank you :) I have it set up, took awhile to somewhat understand it. but it would be nice to see anything I may have missed. Oh yeah, I loved the music rant on the other video. So true! I've been a musician for 15 years and you gotta dig to find the good stuff!
Hi, i would like to ask you how do u setup in AWESOME MINER from miningpoolhub for example SKEIN DGB or FTC or ETH - i cant get those working... error like: [2018-03-22 20:28:40] NVML GPU monitoring enabled.
[2018-03-22 20:28:40] NVAPI GPU monitoring enabled.
[2018-03-22 20:28:40] 5 miner threads started, using 'skein' algorithm.
[2018-03-22 20:28:40] HTTP request failed: Empty reply from server
[2018-03-22 20:28:40] get_work failed, retry after 30 seconds
[2018-03-22 20:28:41] API open to the network in read-only mode on port 4028
pop up and i dont know why... could you help me ?
I have two questions
1) is there any app that can count actual kw/h my miners spend monthly.
2) I purchased AwesomeMiner and in main/miners Tab I have to configure all miner names because formation is messed up every 5-10 hours
"You enabled full remote management, but did not specify -mpsw option to protect it by password, please do it,
otherwise you can be attacked if you share remote management port to internet! Or use negative -mport value to enable read-only remote
management mode, see Readme for details."
Anyone know what to do with this I check the readme but nothing
Hi Goose, i have a question re MiningPoolHub discrepancy between "Auto Switching Ports per Algo" and "Coin Mining Status" as shown on their home page... i find that the Auto Switching is lagging switching to the most profitable coin, as shown by the bottom section, by as much as 10 minutes. I'm curious why this is happening as i find that i miss out on mining the best coin at the time using the Auto Switching method. Is there a reason for it being slower to switch? Is there a way to make it Auto Switch in sync with the Coin Mining Status? ... cheers
Sorry Goose I should have clarified that in this particular scenario I am not using AM but instead renting hashpower from nicehash and directing to MPH’s Auto Switching per Algo in particular Equihash port 17023. The issue is that in the Coin Mining Status the coin changes to a more profitable coin (also reflected on whattomine) but coin in Auto Switching per Algo doesn’t update quickly enough, sometimes completely missing the opportunity.
Part of that is likely because of Awesome Miner. In Options | Profit Switching, there are two settings to consider: Switching interval & Profit switch threshold. You'll want to set these accordingly to try and get the best results. Now, do consider that setting the threshold too low could result in more switching than desired, which will negatively impact your results. AM only switches if the threshold has been crossed. So a coin would need to be x% more than what's currently being mined to trigger a switch.
And no, there is no way to get it to be in sync with MPH stats. The only way, would be to switch to MultiPoolMiner and use the 12xxx port designations. Then, MPH takes full control.
You could check the going rate of whatever coin is currently being mined. This will usually show up on the main page of MPH. The Normalized Profit number is also an indicator of the amount of that coin will be mined (expressed as BTC) at the current hashrates/values.
On MPH I have to have different wallet address for every single coin ? in EXODUS I don't have some of the coins? Can I have the awsome to send the coin into a different coin address in MPH? example: Zcash. I have no wallet adress in MPH, where the coins are going from Awesome?
Hey man, so i keep getting that error where it tries to mine skein and all those other algorithms all at once... Its very wierd that the profitability drops a lot from 5 bucks to 88 cents yet the algorithm doesnt change... I have it set to change every minute like your tutorial. Another thing is i get a lit of hardware errors. Any ideas? I know in ur vid u say to add only the coins i want to mine but what id there are unspecified coins or new coins that are mor profitable? Help? Hehe sorry for length
Hello friend, in MPH index shows that "Algo switch mining" should be used for ASIC and FGPA miners, and says we should use "Multi-algo switch mining" for GPUs, but Awesome Miner came with "Algo Switch mining" ports pre-configured. Isn't that wrong? Maybe we need to change another configs on Awesome miner to properly use MPH?
They are interchangeable. It is often better to focus a GPU mining rig on a single algorithm to maximize profits and optimize for power consumption and heat. The multi-algo switch method is handled by AM, however, so it is still an option. AM does not use the port numbers for the multi-algo switch method on MPH. To get that to work, you would need something like Multi Pool Miner. The results, however, whether you use AM or Multi Pool Miner, will be the same.
What coin can I use for NVIDIA? you have AMD so is different. I want to change from nicehash as my profit is very very very low for 18 cards about $350-400 a month... I used MSI afterburner and overclocked, I downloaded CUDA for algorithm improvements. I have no ideea what to do anymore. I am new in this and I have no ideea how to work on settings in command promt and staff like that. :(
Hi Sorry, I just saw your answer to Jin Madera's question which is exactly my situation. I have Zotac and Palit 1060. With Nicehash is going a lot on Dagger_Hashimoto (decred, pascal, sia). I don't see it in here.I know is for ethereum. That means that I can also choose Ethereum?
Awesome Miner makes things much easier. I would recommend checking out my newer video on different methods of mining with AM: https://youtu.be/jYXuxvj4xdI
Also, you can check out whattomine.com to see what algorithms may be best for your GPU. Typically nVidia GPUs are best with Equihash, Lyra2REv2, Phi1612, and NeoScrypt
It takes a while to figure it out all. I've got a bunch of videos to help you though. Just search whatever you're looking for, there's usually something. And feel free to join our discord server if you have more questions.
Nothing is guaranteed when it comes to viruses. I take comfort in knowing that AM scans the mining engines before packaging them and sending them out. It's when you start downloading random programs from Github that you start to run into problems. I just let AM do all that for me so I don't have to concern myself as much with the threat of viruses.
thanks for the tutorial Goose. I got my miner working.
I do have one question, maybe you know it, or can do a vid about it.
I've been mining Zcoin for a day and on Awsome Miner it shows a total hasrate of 9.57 MH/s. Checking the list it is not lower. But on Miningpool Zcoin pool dashboard it shows a hashrate of 6.67 MH/s. Do you know why there is a difference?
There is one thing to keep in mind with mining-poolhub. There is a minimum amount of credits you need to have hashed.
On Zcoin-pool it says "Round Earnings are not credited until 30 confirms". This number is not the same for all coins.
Good afternoon Goose-Tech.
I've been experimenting with Awesom-miner, specially the profit-switching using your "Hard way" technique. Manged to get it to switch profit switching between the different algorithms on MiningPoolHub and Zergpool in one poolgroup. Tried to set the interval on 1 minute and the threshold to 1% and than in the Poolgroup properties set a number at quota. Tried it with both "Failover only" on and off. But it didn't make any difference. I had hope it would count the number of accepted calculations it had made and not switch before it had reached the set quota. But it didn't. Maybe there is a way to use the bat-file option to set a minimal amount of excepted calculations before it switches and than set it for each coin / algorithm. Something like if x< 31stay on current algo, if x>31 than switch algorithm. My program skills don't reach far enough to try this myself.
Hope you can crack this one.
Running it directly made no difference. Difference stays about 20%. Switched over to ZergPool. It's closer to the prediction than Mining Pool Hub. Watching the graphics on ZergPool and ZergPool shows more information on Awesome miner made me understand how the numbers are made.
It's run over 30 hours. It generated 0.117 Zcoin in 24 hours. When i dived what it would generate over the value of the coin it should generate between 0.19 and 0.18. after pool fees. I do see it is dropping blocks in the list (transactions), even blocks it's been running on over 10 minutes (114 accepted). I've made a copy of the ccminer folder and edited the config and bat-files, so Awesome-Miner is not used. I'll let it run all Sunday and check on Monday if it made any difference.
The dashboard is always showing to little. It is running steady over 9450 kh/s with most over 9500 kh/s and the highest it has showed in the dashboard is 6.67 mh/s now it even shows 4.90 mh/s It should base it on the last 5 minutes. Going through the list this should be 9.5 mh/s.
Not currently. It switches based on the stored hashrate for each coin and the average it gets from all the exchanges. You can limit the number of exchanges used to determine the price, however, if you want.
Thanks for you quick response.
I'll let it run until it has over 24 hours than check what it made.
On a side note, My profit switching (Awesome Miner) is not switching on profit, but on revenue. I have seen it switch from the most profitable algorithm to one that was less profitable. Is there a way to make it switch on profit and not on revenue?
I'm still fighting this; I'm unclear on exactly where to put the command line instructions. No matter what I have tried, my GPU shows only 10% load and intensity 19. I can't be getting the full value out of my GTX 1080 cards with those settings. Anything you can do to help would be appreciated.
You might still be able to add the intensity command to the Command Line tab for your pool. Just edit the coin you're mining, click on Command Line, and add -i N or --intensity=N (where N is the intensity you want to set).
Ah.. Thanks. At the moment, Awesomeminer is choosing to use ccminer v 2.24_1, so I guess I can't make that change. Thanks for the quick reply. I started using Awesomeminer based on your videos and it is currently making me around 20% more than NiceHash, so thank you for pointing me in that direction. Cheers.
This is done through a Device Profile, but currently there are only 2 miner engines supported: Claymore and Sgminer. Go to Options | Device Profiles and add a new one. Choose whether it is a profile for Claymore or Sgminer, then you can edit all the individual settings for that miner, including intensity. Alternatively, you could look up the command lines for a specific mining engine and simply add the intensity command to the Command Line tab on the pool setup box. I have done this in more recent videos for mining LUX.
Yes, if you go to Options | Profit Profiles | Click on your profile | Edit, then click on the algo, you have options at the bottom to set for each one. You do need to have MSI Afterburner installed to get it to work though.
It will only send to an external wallet if you configure it to do that. For whatever coin you chose in the auto exchange, go to that coin's pool page, click on Wallet, then input your Exodus receive address. You set the payout threshold.
The pool fee is .9%, the exchange fee is .2%. So 1.1% total in fees when using auto exchange. Transaction fees are unavoidable, but since you can choose your minimum payout threshold, you have a bit of control over that. Obviously, if you mine only one coin, that will save you .2% in exchange fees.
It's really a matter of preference. I personally like the algo-switching method with MPH if you're going to set your rig to a single algorithm like Ethash. That way you're always mining the most profitable coin with that algo. I did a video on this recently: https://youtu.be/jYXuxvj4xdI?t=1112
For some reason I keep getting the "Failed to initialize procces: Invalid Application", a.k.a the "Antivirus problem". I've seen your other video and tried multiple solutions and yet I can't seem to find a fix for it... it's driving me crazy!
the problem is , that i've actually never got it to mine, as when I first tried to, the problem occured.
which is why I have no pools in my list, so I don't even have a stratum set.
the diagnostics also didn't help much.. just says Failed to initialize process: InvalidApplication , followed by something like Failed to initialize: Diagnostics stopped working .
I have attempted to install and run the thing fresh with both windows defender and Avira Antivirus off, still no avail..
I will try deleting all the files and install it once again..
edit: thank you for the very quick response!!
edit 2: I seem to have gotten it working.
What I did was delete all the files that have to do with awesome miner, restart my PC, turn off all of my antivirus protection, installed awesome miner again, added all the files to exceptions again (with the antiviri off!) and started it, then i turned both windows defender and avira antivirus back on, and it didn't cause any trouble!
If you've added %localappdata%\AwesomeMiner to your AV exclusion list, then it could very well be an issue with the server settings. Have you tried substituting ssl:// with stratum+tcp:// ? Have you clicked on the diagnostics button to see what output is from the mining engine?
Hi tnx for the info but did the physical test with my 1080ti 6 gpu rig in a space of 2 weeks, my results are way better on Nicehash though than on Awesome miner with miningpoolhub,, i made twice as much on Nicehash and back to them for that. tnx though made me test the theory.
Hey Goose, questions about AM & MPH....
AM tells me the most profitable altcoin in coin section. Then in MPH have auto switching & status and profits. Both tells me different coins profit, example... AM tells me Zclassic, MPH tells me Zcoin. I based on AM for profit, it's like live refresh???
From the other hand, auto switching is not working with equihash, added 4 coins and doesn't mine the most profitable based on AM, not sure if it is reading from MPH.
When I go to Define my Coin I do not have all the choices you showed in the pull down menu...What is wrong with my awesome miner settings ?? What do I need to do to fix it..I would like to customize each coin like you showed...Thanks!!
I was not trying to add but to define..When I went to the pull down upon trying to define a lyra hash my pull down was empty...If you can recommend one of your videos that might help with this issue please let me know...
What happens when it switches to another coin in the same pool? I.e. from bitcoin gold to zcash within the same pool. Does the "defined coin" recognize this switch? Does it change/restart the miner? Thanks!
Goose-Tech Thanks for replying. I guess its too much to ask to switch almost real time.
Related question: I often get quite a large difference in the ranking of coins/algos between the list in MPH and «online services» in AM. Is this due to benchmarking, delay or something else?
If you're using the algo switching method via MPH, then your stats won't be that accurate. MPH determines which coin is being mined automatically via the algorithm. For example, there are 4 coins that use Equihash algorithm. MPH will mine the most profitable Equihash coin in the pool. The only downside is it doesn't report which coin specifically.
I'm glad to hear that you were able to get things up and running. It would be great to have an ASIC so I could make additional videos. I'm sure it would help a lot of people on the channel too. PM me if you would like to discuss things further. Thanks.
if my deal get handled next week i could donate you a gridseed orb it has dual mode - maybe you could do a video with it . no strings attached ofc. i dont how to look for the port number peercoin on nicehash in sha but i did chose it in awesome miner but it still stay on the bitcoin network difficulty. so i think its not possible to mine after a certain coin via nicehash sha256 in awesome miner.
thank you kindly for your reply sir i like your videos i my self are totally new to this mining, but i figured out to add an external miner for my antminers atm i only have 2 antminer u1 i wanted to mine peercoin via nicehash but you cant select low difficulty so i had to use another website for now, but i should get some gridseed next week, them i can use in awesome miner through nicehash. your work and videos are much apprichiated :) i got them clocked to 2.2 ghash on the pool i use i get around 6 ghash, i found one where i could mine with them i am getting peercoin now :)
