Why is it that they pronounce it different? I tried googling it but I couldn't find an answer. Whenever I hear a British pronunciation I concentrate on the word evil.. it literally sounds like Evil-ution.. It's just weird and I wonder sometimes if the way it's pronounced goes back to Biblical vs Scientific ?

she has a very toned down variant of the Australian accent (by that i mean slightly americanised in pronunciation). I've never heard anyone speaking like this in Australia

It being the centenary of the Russian Revolution ( 7 November), to this very day, opinion is still divided as to whether the country should have chosen the path of evolution in the wake of the February Revolution, or gone the whole hog, as it were, by beginning to smash the whole edifice of the state to smithereens a few months later in the name of improving the lot of the common man. Thanks for sharing.

Very good :). Thanks for commenting!
English with Max That's exactly what I meant to get across, having a whirl at using it in a figurative way, as opposed to referring to its literal Darwinian sort of sense. Thanks for the feedback.

Hi! What do you mean by "evolution" in this context? Do you mean letting things happen organically without major action?
Silvio Martins (1 year ago)
Funny, I had never noticed that before! Thank you, Max!! BTW, my daughter loves Hi 5. We're Brazilians!!

English with Max And you don't necessarily have to know the language you want your kids to learn. I just need subtitles to be sure what kind of conversation my daughter is being exposed to. A bunch of shows my daughter sees on Netflix are also available in German, French, Italian, Spanish, and English, but I wanted Chinese, too. YouTube has an app called YouTube Kids. Even though it's a bit safer, my daughter got to see some spooky videos because of Halloween.

That's great! Both for your daughter and for you. When I have kids, I hope I manage to bring them up bilingual as well. You're very welcome - I'm happy you find my videos useful!
Silvio Martins (1 year ago)
You're totally right! TV helps a lot, and I tell everyone it's all about saving money. Hahahaha! She motivates (I mean forces, obliges lol) me to learn new words every day, and my vocabulary has increased significantly. A friend of mine told me bilingual children tend to speak later, and now that I see my daughter communicating in your language, yeah, it pays off. Just incredible. I hadn't planned anything, I simply started speaking with her in English the day she was born, like, out of the blue. And YouTubers like you have helped us write each line and page of our story. Thank you!!

That's fantastic! I've met many people who spoke brilliant English because they were exposed to English-language TV shows, movies, etc. from a very young age. I've also met many parents who pay a lot of money for English classes for their children, and I just want to tell them: "It's not necessary! Just put your kids in front of the TV!"
Silvio Martins (1 year ago)
English with Max Yep, she watches them in English only. I pick different shows from different countries for her to see, so I get her exposed to Australian, British, American, and Canadian English. She's 27mo and she's smart!! :D
