can add to last line just after after " -t 2 " " space " " --donate-level 1" . That's to donate 1 instead of 5 like it is set as default

xmrig-2.4-2.1/xmrig (which was built for Mac OS X 10.12) I am using OS X 10.11 EL CAPITAN not Sierra . I downloaded another version of xmrig :. To install type this on Terminal and hit enter after each line typed : $ brew install cmake lib libmicrohttpd $ clone https://github.com/xmrig/xmrig.git $ make command line should look like this : $ ./xmrig -a cryptonight -o "pool.etnminers.com:3333" -u etnkJKW1hXyg2Tsi9pfS97NWL5DGfzcs76e4A81FoRpmeyDUyXPcGtsPqbNBahsduHByc1Gmd9FRqTPWe4ZmptL16VHXTLYhyZ -p x -t 2 After install and after closed terminal and want to relaunch the xmrig (assuming that you installed it on your Home folder ): Open Terminal and type ( Hit enter after each line typed ) : $ cd xmrig $ cd build $ ./xmrig -a cryptonight -o "pool.etnminers.com:3333" -u etnkJKW1hXyg2Tsi9pfS97NWL5DGfzcs76e4A81FoRpmeyDUyXPcGtsPqbNBahsduHByc1Gmd9FRqTPWe4ZmptL16VHXTLYhyZ -p x -t 2 Those are my details ,replace those with yours ( You don't have to type " $ " ). Enjoy ;)

i downloaded and installed xmrig via homebrew and it does not include the "config.json" file however when i create it manually it has parse errors. Do you have a working "config.json" file?
N T (7 months ago)
This should work : { "algo": "cryptonight", // cryptonight (default) or cryptonight-lite "av": 0, // algorithm variation, 0 auto select "background": false, // true to run the miner in the background "colors": true, // false to disable colored output "cpu-affinity": null, // set process affinity to CPU core(s), mask "0x3" for cores 0 and 1 "cpu-priority": null, // set process priority (0 idle, 2 normal to 5 highest) "donate-level": 1, // donate level, mininum 1% "log-file": null, // log all output to a file, example: "c:/some/path/xmrig.log" "max-cpu-usage": 95, // maximum CPU usage for automatic mode, usually limiting factor is CPU cache not this option. "print-time": 60, // print hashrate report every N seconds "retries": 5, // number of times to retry before switch to backup server "retry-pause": 5, // time to pause between retries "safe": false, // true to safe adjust threads and av settings for current CPU "syslog": false, // use system log for output messages "threads": 2, // number of miner threads "pools": [ { "url": "stratum+tcp://etnmine.pro:3333", // URL of mining server "user": "etnkJKW1hXyg2Tsi9pfS97NWL5DGfzcs76e4A81FoRpmeyDUyXPcGtsPqbNBahsduHByc1Gmd9FRqTPWe4ZmptL16VHXTLYhyZ", // username for mining server "pass": "x", // password for mining server "keepalive": true, // send keepalived for prevent timeout (need pool support) "nicehash": false // enable nicehash/xmrig-proxy support } ], "api": { "port": 0, // port for the miner API https://github.com/xmrig/xmrig/wiki/API "access-token": null, // access token for API "worker-id": null // custom worker-id for API } }

Rosli Othman i just copied the xmrig to my desktop for ease of use. It should be located somewhere on /usr/local.
Rosli Othman (9 months ago)
so where did you put the config.json on your Mac? I don't even know where homebrew installed xmrig on my mac LOL
Flynn Joy (10 months ago)
i got the link to the config.json here https://github.com/xmrig/xmrig/blob/master/src/config.json
Flynn Joy (10 months ago)
i resolved it looks like there is a " on a different format in line 20 that is causing the invalid escape character by using a json online editor. Also I need to makesure i get the highest permissions on the xmrig folder to save the config.json (high sierrra is not allowing to save by default)
