put your voltage upto 3% and core to +188 and mem clock to +205 fan at 52% it runs perfect
Ste Conroy (26 days ago)
mine is set for every day use ive tried higher but don't get better results so im happy
Furthency (26 days ago)
The overclock capability for each card is different.
Chanly Agbayani (27 days ago)
Hi, my first time overclocking. What settings would you recommend for apex legends? great video btw.
Furthency (27 days ago)
Do you mean overclocking settings or graphics settings?
rmiklosh (1 month ago)
I got +900 on memory and +145 on GPU stable with +15 core voltage and 116 power limit on msi afterburner. I have asus 1060 6 Gb turbo, so I stuck a fan on air intake and it knocked out 6 degrees and now running 65 degrees C
JungleHeat Innovativ (1 month ago)
Corr voltage does nothing ... ur card manage this , just overclock it. I have 2113 on my core and 4790 on memory
Palinka Suede (1 month ago)
Im OC my 1060 3gb right now and I get this message after I press esc on the benchmark, with no defects during the test. [Benchmark crashed] We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience caused. Please contact [email protected] for assistance, enclosing problem reproduction steps and your system information (OS, CPU, GPU). Thats weird? Does this mean that I cant get any higher right now Im at +90 core clock mhz
Furthency (27 days ago)
First of all I'm very sorry for the late reply. It seems that this problem in superposition benchmark occurs when the overclock is not stable. I recommend decreasing your overclock and then see if that will fix the issue. If a lower overclock does not resolve the error message than I assume it is a bug in The Superposition Benchmark. Let me know if this helps.
Levi Kolke (1 month ago)
this fixed my issue of not being able to change the core voltage https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?81916-GUIDE-to-enable-quot-voltage-control-quot-in-MSI-Afterburner
Tode MKD (2 months ago)
I got same card like you. my max core clock is 160mhz any opinion why? thank you!
Furthency (2 months ago)
No Problem :)
Tode MKD (2 months ago)
Furthency I maxed it 580mhz and 160 core clock it is working good thank you for your help and advice on how to get the best settings.
Furthency (2 months ago)
The overclock for each GPU is different even if they are the same card. I'm not sure why this is so but there may be more information on the internet that could help you.
Brady Haydt (2 months ago)
is 60 c to hot?
Furthency (2 months ago)
No problem.
Brady Haydt (2 months ago)
Thanks
Furthency (2 months ago)
I will answer your question in terms of PC component temperature. It is not a cold temperature but it is also not hot for PC parts. I think 60°C is about average for many GPUs and CPUs. It is a good temperature to run at.
SUPERKING (2 months ago)
Thanks for the vid. I'm hearing people say to not touch the volts because it will destroy the card, either immediately or over time (1, 2+ years). Is this true and is it necessary to increase the V's? Thanks in advanced.
Furthency (2 months ago)
Overclocking a whole reduces the lifespan of a graphics card (including voltage). It could destroy your card depending on how much you increase the voltage. In MSI Afterburner there is a limit on the voltage so you won't destroy your card. Voltage allows more potential in the card for overclocking. If you don't increase the voltage then you won't be able to increase the core clock and memory clock by a considerable amount. It is necessary to increase voltage in many GPUs in order to get the best stable overclock.

Hey i have question, i got a asus gtx 1060 Dual Oc 6GB but i can barely overclock it anything is this because its already factory overcklocked or??
Furthency (3 months ago)
Make sure you have enabled voltage in the settings. If this doesn't work then I don't know what to suggest. Many other viewers had the same problem.
iSHaRe (3 months ago)
+Furthency for sure but i could`t use the voltage bar so i switched to Gpu tweak 2
Furthency (3 months ago)
No problem man. I hope to see you on my channel again in the future :)
iSHaRe (3 months ago)
+Furthency yes u have helped me so much ty
Furthency (3 months ago)
The voltage will provide more power to the GPU which in turn allows you to increase other values further. Yes I would recommend you try to increase the voltage if you haven't already. Yes a custom fan curve may be too advanced and unnecessary. I would recommend you leave the fan speed on auto or increase the fan speed to get lower temperatures. The disadvantage of increased fan speed is noise of course. I hope this helped you!
vortex14 (3 months ago)
I have identical card
Moberg (3 months ago)
I cant adjust my core voltage, but good video mate.
Furthency (3 months ago)
Yes I have heard this from other viewers. If you have enabled core voltage in the settings already then I don't know what to suggest. I think it is locked by the manufacturer of you GPU. Thanks for watching the video! I am sorry I can't help you.
Atomiczeus 03 (4 months ago)
Hey I was trying to overclock but I cannot increase the core voltage even if I unlock the voltage edit in msi afterburner.Pls help me
Levi Kolke (1 month ago)
try this, worked for me https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?81916-GUIDE-to-enable-quot-voltage-control-quot-in-MSI-Afterburner
Furthency (3 months ago)
No problem.
Atomiczeus 03 (4 months ago)
Oh ok.I will just overclock my gpu until I can but I think I can use the ASUS gpu tweak to increase the core voltage. Thanks anyway
Furthency (4 months ago)
A few other people had the same problem as you. I tried to help them but it looks like there isn't any fix for it. The cause might be down to your GPU manufacturer since they probably locked the voltage. I am not sure what the reason is exactly. Sorry I cannot help you.
This Is B1ack1isted (4 months ago)
I to have the same card but I can't seem to unlock core voltage.. Any ideas
Levi Kolke (1 month ago)
https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?81916-GUIDE-to-enable-quot-voltage-control-quot-in-MSI-Afterburner had the same issue, this worked for me
Furthency (3 months ago)
You should be able to reinstall the ASUS programs from their website for free. I prefer to use MSI Afterburner as well.
gimmqi (3 months ago)
I just bought the card, I can overclock and raise it with the Asus program that comes with the driver, but I’d rather do MSI but I can’t up my voltage so I’m having the same problem, I think it has something to do with the Asus overclock tweak program that comes with the drivers that I have been using. I think uninstalling that program completely and its components may allow you to overclock from afterburner, but I don’t want to lose what I have, not sure it would hurt but just don’t want to go through the work at the moment.
Furthency (4 months ago)
A different viewer had the same problem as you. I am not sure what the cause could be. Make sure you have unlocked core voltage in the Msi Afterburner settings. If this doesn't work then I don't know.
Fer Nando (4 months ago)
awesome!
rooster (4 months ago)
i did all this and passed unigin with 9852 score and was like YEI! i got core clock +160 and memory clock +500. Went to play Roe to make some gametest. It was pretty wierd, cause while i was playing i was suddenly back to desktop. First i thought that i clicked windows key, but boom no it was still going. I went back to the game and played little time and same shit happened again :D. Then i realized that i didint missclick wkey and it was probably oc's fault. I changed back to the stock clocks and managed to win that solo game. lol u have good guide right here. when i have some more time i will try this all again.
rooster (4 months ago)
+Furthency yes i did go back to factory settings.
Furthency (4 months ago)
I am glad to hear you won the game of ROE :) Thank you for the positive feedback on my video! I have never heard of the problem you are having. If you know it's the OC's fault then I recommend you lower or revert back to factory settings.
Zycron (4 months ago)
160 coreclock works 165 are first extrem tiny glitches on screen Should i leave it like that
Zycron (4 months ago)
+Furthency thank u did it works
Furthency (4 months ago)
Decrease core clock if you see tiny glitches on your screen.

Normally I'm not in to overclocking. Says so my CPU, a i7-700 Non K CPU. My Video card is an Asus GTX 1060 6GB OC Dual. Thanks to your very clear and easy to understand video I gave it a try. I could overclock my Video Card to a 189 Core Clock and 600 Memory clock. No artefacts and/or other strange blips etc. No crash as well. During the benchmark my Video card could get to 2135 Mhz, did not get hotter then 71C and I got a 7196 score on 1080 High benchmark. Is this any good?
Furthency (4 months ago)
Yes that sounds very good! I am grateful for your positive feedback. It seems that you understood the video well which is something I am happy to hear.

i got up to 850mhz no flickering and when 900 only the slightest. Btw i use GTX 1060 3GB ASUS
Furthency (6 months ago)
Thank you again :)
Gian Chaudhry (6 months ago)
Np:) I think you deserve more like 400k plus subs. I wanna help
Furthency (6 months ago)
That's good to hear. 400mhz sounds better on the core clock and 850mhz sounds good on the memory clock. Thank you for complementing my video and thank you very much for subscribing :)
Gian Chaudhry (6 months ago)
Sorry, I had to go I was accidentally talking about the memory one but I got it to 400 plus still with no problem. Great vid. Have subbed and turned notifications on. Great vid
Furthency (6 months ago)
Definitely don't use the 900mhz OC which I assume you knew already. 850mhz sounds like a lot so make sure you do extensive testing to check for stability. Good to hear that the video worked out for you and thanks for watching.
Tom (6 months ago)
Hi ! Nice video. I have the same card but can I turn all settings in default mod fan setting include (1:59) after the overclock?
Tom (6 months ago)
+Furthency Ok thx
Furthency (6 months ago)
Yes you can do that once your temperatures are not too high. If your temperatures are too high then you should adjust the fan setting. Thanks for watching the tutorial.
Mihai Badea (6 months ago)
i got +150 core clock and +250 memory clock. is it worth it?
Furthency (6 months ago)
I think GPU overclocking is worth the time because you will get a performance boost for free. I am glad to hear that you got a stable overclock on your GPU. Thanks for watching the video.
LOLBUDDY (6 months ago)
what a bullshitt
Furthency (6 months ago)
No you can't damage a GPU with Msi Afterburner. GPU overclocking is very safe. I can choose what comments I respond to and what videos I upload so don't advice me on what to do. I also don't believe my time is being wasted.
LOLBUDDY (6 months ago)
why you wasting time on comments like this ? you are 20subs channel, you should ignore, every single video like this is bullshit play with what you have dont do overcloks, someone will lose graphic card for no reason cuz videos like this, CPU OC have point but GPU naahh mate some kid ll try to overclock his gpu and boom gone...
Furthency (6 months ago)
Ok I agree with your point that there is only a small fps increase that isn't beneficial enough to some people. I would like you next time to phrase your comments on my channel in a way that is formal and explains your use of language. My video is not bullshit. Everything about my video is all true and realistic. Thanks for your comments and please take in what I said to you.
LOLBUDDY (6 months ago)
+Furthency your fkin video ,theres no point in overclock graphic for 3fps
Furthency (6 months ago)
What are you calling a bullshitt?
Toga16 (7 months ago)
I'd like to try this but, i've never did before... Is there any risk to damage my gpu??
Furthency (7 months ago)
Msi Atterburner is completely safe. If you have an unstable overclock your GPU will crash and revert back to old settings. The GPU has not been damaged at all in this process. I do recommend that you have a decent knowledge in overclocking before your try it. Thanks for watching the video!
Xenagosoganex MtG (8 months ago)
Great video. Thanks. I have the same card and followed through, only getting +150 on core though. I did manage +1000 memory and remained nice and stable. using NV drivers 398.82 Interestingly after getting stability I gradually lowered the voltage (from +100) to +0 and it all remained stable. Did you try lowering the voltage on your system? I'm wondering why the voltage seemed to have zero impact on achievable clockspeeds?!? Anyway, thanks again. Nice to know you can squeeze a fair few extra FPS from these cheaper cards.
rmiklosh (1 month ago)
Eventhough the card can go up to 1000 on memory, I think, after + 900 it starts to lose fps due to overheating memory blocks, so +900 is optimal
Furthency (7 months ago)
I'm happy to hear that the video helped you. Voltages don't seem to effect overclocking on a GPU. They are usually increased in proportion to the amount you have overclocked by but in your case the GPU can still run stable without needing any more voltage. This is a good thing since more voltage increases the temperature of your GPU. When overclocking a CPU voltages are usually a big factor in that and are adjusted to achieve a stable overclock. I hope this helped your question and thank you for watching the video :)
Daniel Pérez (8 months ago)
Hello there Sir! Before i run some tests, those are my specs. Are my motherboard good for overclocking my Gpu? Intel® Core™ i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz Asus B85M-G Socket 1150 LGA G.Skill 8192 MB 1666mhz (x2) Gtx 1060 Asus Dual 6gb. Thanks!
Furthency (8 months ago)
Ye your specs look good enough for overclocking. I don't think your spec matters in gpu overclocking. You just need an AMD or Nvidia card that is compatible with msi afterburner and you need a big enough PSU if you want to increase voltages.
David Mladenovski (8 months ago)
can I use all the same settings that tyou have on the gtx 1060 dual fan 3gb version?
Furthency (8 months ago)
Yes you can use the same fan curve.
David Mladenovski (8 months ago)
can I use the same fan curve?
Furthency (8 months ago)
You could try it but I wouldn't recommend it since every card has different values. Start off with a small overclock and then increase values if it's stable in games. Decrease values if there is artifacts on your screen or if the game crashes. I hope this answers your question and let me know if you need any help.
q8_vip2 (8 months ago)
Thank you very much i love this video please answer me core clock stable at 180 the memory clock i didnt get any crash from at 1000 max something wrong ? should i down 950 ?
Furthency (8 months ago)
Yes you can overclock your GTX 1060 with Msi afterburner like I show in the video. Many of Nvidia's graphics cards can be overclocked since they support Msi afterburner. Let me know how you get along and thanks very much for subscribing :)
Marinduque Philippines (8 months ago)
Furthency i have a question, can i overclock any gtx 1060 graphics card? thank you!! subs.
Furthency (8 months ago)
Sorry for the late reply Solomid I was busy. I watched your video and the performance looks good to me. I see you have good CPU and GPU temps and the usage is good. Everything looks fine to me so I think that was a successful overclock. Thanks for watching and subscribing again :)
q8_vip2 (8 months ago)
first time i oc gpu . i can show you how my card can run max memory 1000 i used 500 half but core clock crash at 180 i used 175 or lower asus 1060 6gb dual

SoLo Mid When i add to the memory 301 it crashes but if i dip to 225 its stable
Sown It's (8 months ago)
i cant adjust gpu voltage
Furthency (8 months ago)
No problem. I hope it works out good for you.
Sown It's (8 months ago)
Furthency yeah, i still managed OC my card, score improved from 9038 to 10139 without artifacts, thanks
Furthency (8 months ago)
500w should definitely be enough to increase voltage so it's most likely your gpu that has put a lock on it. I searched around to see if other people where having a similar problem and I found this http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3143641/msi-afterburner-unlock-voltage-control-msi-gtx-1060.html. It looks like you can't change the voltage on your card. I wouldn't be too concerned about this since overclocking doesn't increase fps by too much on Pascal cards. You can still attempt an overclock without voltage change and still get increased fps. I'm not sure why msi have put a lock on your voltage. I hope this helped you and thanks for watching the video.
Sown It's (8 months ago)
Furthency hmm its cm mwe 500w
Furthency (8 months ago)
That's strange I wouldn't have expected a 1060 to be locked. What power supply do you have?
nelson wong (10 months ago)
my gtx 1060 6 gb can use dis setting
Furthency (10 months ago)
Nice I hope you enjoy your overclock.
luis saire martinez (1 year ago)
core voltage(mV) is blocked , Why does that happen to me?
X 4 J B (8 months ago)
In MSI afterburner, go to the settings icon thingy. There check the boxes "Unlock voltage control" and "Unlock voltage monitoring" (both under "General", "Compatibility properties". This was actually in the guide but I think you might have skipped over it. I hope that was your problem.
Furthency (1 year ago)
It possibly means that your graphics card is not allowing msi afterburner to change the voltage. This is down to safety reasons and so you don't damage your card. It could be for another reason but that is my guess. Im not sure why all graphics cards dont do this but maybe your gpu is factory overclocked or maybe your psu is bot big enough. What graphics card do you have?
Goldartifact302 (1 year ago)
question.. why do you not use the Gpu tweak II that comes with the card ? for Oc
Furthency (1 year ago)
Goldartifact302 Very sorry for the late reply. Somehow I didnt get notified about your comment. I have tried out gpu tweak but it somehow slows down my computer when opeing programs. I have never seen anything like it on any other program. Other than that the interface is bad compared to msi afterburner. I also just find msi afterburner more convienient and better supported. I hope that answers your question and I am very sorry for late reply.
J Boy (1 year ago)
please provide a little more entail on the custom fan curve; can't see it
X 4 J B (8 months ago)
Yeah, sure buddy. btw you probably have like 0 case fans, theyre often louder bc they can spin faster. 100% on my two ML140's is just insane.
Rui Amaral (1 year ago)
depends on the brand u using, my MSI Armor is silent even at 100% fan duty!
Furthency (1 year ago)
Rui Amaral Much louder!
Rui Amaral (1 year ago)
Just use manual control and put fan to 100%, much better!
Furthency (1 year ago)
J Boy You need to go to msi afterburner properties then click on fan tab and then click on enable user defined software automatic fan control.
T-G İLKER (1 year ago)
Can ı do this with gtx 1060 3gb
jappatapuli (8 months ago)
i did thay with furmark and got 2000mhz stable : ) i have same gpu
Furthency (1 year ago)
Watch the video it will tell you. If you have any questions after watching the video then I will answer them.
T-G İLKER (1 year ago)
Furthency how can ı do my stable settings
Furthency (1 year ago)
Yes. The stable settings will obviously be different for your card so don't copy my settings.
Account Number (1 year ago)
what happens if i right away put voltage, and power max. then core clock- 100mhz+ .... and memory -200mhz+. Then click apply, and just benchmark from there on?, and try next maybe 150 core, if it crashes, then substract 25mhz? or do i have to do this by cautiously raising the values, so the gpu won't crash, and get bricked??
X 4 J B (8 months ago)
Its a-ok, you cant break any hardware using afterburner.
Furthency (1 year ago)
That should work fine. I think it would be unlikely to severely damage a GPU from msi afterburner but do still be careful and I think you should go to 125mhz if 100mhz works fine. I think 150mhz is a big jump and is also a high number to achieve stable. It sounds like you have some experience in overclocking so I will say no more.
John lampert (1 year ago)
is this going to damage my card, i have a gtx1060 dual 6gb. also i heard you don’t have to change the core voltage, i followed the vid and got it to +100. and for the core clock i could only do +144 without seeing color spots on the benchmark.
Furthency (1 year ago)
No it wont damage your card. It sounds like you have done everything properly so I don't expect your card to be damaged. GPU overclocking is relatively safe and there is not much that can go wrong due to safe limits put on the card. Although like any overclocking it will shorten the life span of your GPU.
Jhair Garthoff (1 year ago)
I use Tomb Raider (2013) as Benchmark instead of Unigine, and I can't get the Core Clock up to +90 and Mem Clock up to +200 without crashing. Is this normal? My PC components: ASUS z170 PRO GAMING Core i5 7600 3.5GHz ASUS GTX 1060 Dual 6GB OC Ed. RAM 8x2 DDR4 Corsair Vengeance PSU EVGA 600w
Furthency (1 year ago)
Do you mean that other people can get the asus gtx 1060 dual 6gb oc to 2113mhz or a different gtx 1060 to 2113mhz? I can have an answer once you reply to this. (I hope you mean to say 2258mhz on memory clock!)
Jhair Garthoff (1 year ago)
Thanks for replying! You see, I've been testing some configurations and it looks like I can only get to Core Clock at +90 and Mem Clock at +250 for a stable overclock. I can't get anything any higher because in the middle of the benchmark it crashes. Now, I ask you: Why can people with the exact same GPU get to 2113mhz Core Clock without any problems? My actual config is Core Clock at 1874mhz and Mem Clock at 8258mhz with voltage, power and temperature maxed. Thanks, again!
Furthency (1 year ago)
Yes the core clock seems fine but I think you might be able to get the memory clock a bit higher. Tomb Raider (2013) is a breeze for your system so I would strongly recommend using Unigine if you have the time since it ensures that you have a stable overclock. Thanks for watching the video and I hope you are happy with your overclock :)
kim nielsen (1 year ago)
nice guide ! i have the same card. i finish at 575 m clock but had alot colours sparkling. Should i go lower ?
Furthency (1 year ago)
No problem
kim nielsen (1 year ago)
okay ty mate it's done!
Furthency (1 year ago)
YES PLEASE LOWER YOUR CORE CLOCK NOW! The "color sparkling" means that your overclock is not stable and could cause damage to your card. Lower the GPU clock until it there is now "color sparkling" and run the benchmark for an hour please to make sure it is stable.
Urbanrunner79 (1 year ago)
Cannot go over 2113 mhz core clock and a bit of throttling due to TDP power limit. Is there a way to flash the BIOS and go over 116%?
X 4 J B (8 months ago)
Also 2113 on your core clock is pretty good, congratz; I only got like 2000
X 4 J B (8 months ago)
It is not the bios, its just the limit Afterburner gives you, because thats where its safe (your hardware wont break). It is perfectely normal you are sitting on 116% during the benchmark, and it has nothing to do with youre power supply or bios.
Furthency (1 year ago)
What bios do you have and what is your computer model?
Lucas Basso Hining (1 year ago)
anyone confirms the methods ?
X 4 J B (8 months ago)
Nothing wrong with it.
Furthency (1 year ago)
Yes this method works for all graphics cards but stable values vary for each card
