ASUS Dual GTX 1060 OC6G Unboxing and Installation
The ASUS Dual GTX 1060 OC6G graphics card comes in a strong box and is well packed so you can be sure that nothing will happen during transport.
Apart from the graphics card, there is nothing special inside the box.
There is a short manual in several languages that illustrate the installation of a graphics card in general and is not specially for this card.
There is a CD with driver and software, don’t use the CD and download the latest driver and software from the ASUS webpage, because the driver on the CD are already outdated.
You can clam an invite code from the ASUS webpage for the game world of warships for a 15 days premium account, but you have to register on the ASUS webpage, so I skipped that. The game is for free anyway but you must register there too.
The price of the ASUS Dual GTX 1060 OC6G is around 320 to 350 US$ or Euro.
There are many other GTX 1060 graphics cards from other manufacturers that are maybe 50 US$ or 50 Euro cheaper, the reason why I choose the ASUS is because of the connectivity.
The card offers 5 ports: 2 HDIM 2 ports, 2 display ports 1.4 and one DVI-D port.
So, you can easily connect a PC Monitor and your UHD TV and you have still one HDIM port left if you want to use Virtual Reality glasses like the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive without the need of an adapter or you can connect a second TV.
Here a short look on the specifications.
The installation is strait forward.
Shut down the PC and remove the power cables.
Check the manual of your motherboard for the recommended slot for a single graphics card.
I my case, for the ASUS Z 170 pro gaming, I have to use the right slot.
Check which expansion slot covers you have to remove and remove them.
Remove the plastic protection from the connectors and insert the graphics card into the slot.
Secure the card with two screws.
Connect a 6 pin power cable to the card.
Put your PC back together, connect the power cables and monitor.
Start the PC and install the graphics card driver and software that you can download at the ASUS webpage.
i build a computer
16gb ddr ram
600 power supply ect
with this graphics card , everything seems to be working but when i plug it in: no display
theres something with this graphics card cuz it works with the stock graphics card from the motherboard
Did you check the manual of the motherboard if you have to change something in the bios setting, or maybe you put the graphics card in the wrong slot? Is the onboard graphics card still working after you pluged the card in?
iramike sorta...not so loud that you'll hear it through headphones but a bit without any. At least for me. But overall I would suggest this 1060 gpu instead of any other, only con is that it has no backplate.
Yes, but mostlikely the driver on the disk is already outdated. Yes can install this driver first and then try to update the driver, or you can go to the nvidia webpage to get the latest driver right away.
