is this still a good card?
Jarrod'sTech (21 days ago)
Yeah the 1060 is still very capable, great option even today for 1080p 60 FPS with high settings in many modern games.
Danny Tsuji (24 days ago)
Thanks for the review, Would this be good for rendering animations?
Jarrod'sTech (23 days ago)
Yeah that's quite a big upgrade!
Danny Tsuji (23 days ago)
Thanks Jarrod, I think its about time I upgrade my geforce gtx 8800 lol.
Jarrod'sTech (24 days ago)
I would assume it would be decent compared to other options available at the moment but strictly speaking I've never tried it in any such apps so I'd look for benchmarks with the 1060 on what you plan on using
Guys is this better or Normal gtx 1060 3gb
Jarrod'sTech (25 days ago)
Yes, 6GB is better than 3GB, not much but there are other benchmarks for it showing the differences.
Mr. Guy (30 days ago)
Nice review, I'm not sure if I should go for this card or an Rx 580 4gb, which one would you recommend?
Jarrod'sTech (30 days ago)
I've never had the 580 4GB, I just bought an 8GB though but think that's closer to the 1060 6GB. Hardware unboxed compared the 570 against it here I guess it was a closer match ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vzx-us9g86U

None of those benchmarks matter if youre using an amd processor. Graphics cards benchmarks in games are literally irrelevant, because many of them depend on your cpu and general computer build as well. You are an ignorant.
Jarrod'sTech (1 month ago)
Hi Kevin, if you knew what you were talking about at all you'd know that for the most part the graphics make a larger difference, given they do the majority of the graphical rendering - exactly what we're testing here. Of course there's a point testing it, otherwise how do you know how well it performs and whether it's worthwhile? Yes, while at 1080p the CPU can play a larger role in performance compared to higher resolutions such as 1440p or 4K, it's also worth taking into consideration that this video was made 1 month before the release of AMD's Ryzen platform, no one was seriously buying AMD CPUs for gaming machines back then. Also couple this with the fact that I am not rich like other larger channels and cannot just drop thousands of dollars to also have an AMD test rig (I still don't have one almost 2 years after this video), so I tested with the best I had, deal with it 👌

I have a problem with the "Memory Clock": it is supposed to be 8008 MHZ but when I'm playing any game "Afterburner" says it runs at 4007 MHZ so I don't understand what is happening
Jarrod'sTech (1 month ago)
No problem!
Gabriel García (1 month ago)
Thank you!!!
Jarrod'sTech (1 month ago)
That's fine and normal, it's to do with double data (DDR) rate memory, so the real speed is around 4000MHz, but the effective DDR speed would be 8000MHz

Hi, whats a budget build including this graphics card? Like components such as motherboard etc. Budget :)
Jarrod'sTech (1 month ago)
Yeah should be fine 👌
wenksification (1 month ago)
+Jarrod'sTech ty on the input sir. Im really on a tight budget so maybe the a320 mobo is the best one for me. And yes i will buy 2 × 4gb ram. So if i have the gtx 1060 3gb variant and ryzen 3 1200, a 450w power supply is enough?
Jarrod'sTech (1 month ago)
Sounds alright, what graphics card? Either way 450w PSU should be enough for that even with an average GPU. With your 8GB of memory, is that 1x 8gb stick or 2x 4gb? If possible go for 2x 4gb, as it will run in dual channel and improve performance a little. As for motherboards, I'd probably look at a cheaper B450 rather than B350, the newer ones still support the 1st gen Ryzen CPUs, but have better memory support for Ryzen 2, so if you were to upgrade your CPU in the future (the AM4 socket is supported until 2020) all you have to do is just swap it out. Personally I've only tested MSI motherboards with Ryzen, and I've had no issues with any of them so far. Otherwise if you want to save money the a320 boards are also an option and perfectly fine for the CPU you've listed, really comes down to if you want the option to upgrade I think, if so better off to get the platform fairly decent now rather than buying again in a few years.
wenksification (1 month ago)
Jonathan Soko ty bro. i wont overclock as well. and yes im on a tight budget HAHAHAH. ty for the parts listed.
Jonathan Soko (1 month ago)
Bro if you do not care about over clocking, a gigabyte a320m mobo is only 50$!!!! For a little bit more you can get a oc'able b350 mobo. I dont over clock so i got the gigabyte a320m. I went with the ryzen 3 1200 90$, i got the evga 600w for 40$ (incase i ever need a bit more power than a 500w offers), 8 gb patriot signature series 2400 ddr4 ram for like 75$ and its working great right now. I currently have a gtx 1050 but tomorrow il be upgrading to a 1060 or a rx 570/80 depending on what i can find. I am a happy camper at the moment! IT sounds like you have a similar budget to me, and had the same idea. I am 100% happy with my purchases. And il update my experience once i upgrade from my 1050 tomorrow. But im even happy with my 1050 at the moment, solid cheap card

No, unfortunately the 1060 does not support SLI.
BoJibbidy (2 months ago)
The one question I do have is will it run in sli
Jarrod'sTech (2 months ago)
Yeah it will get the job done! The 1060 is still great for 1080p 60 FPS gaming with good settings.
Sandis Kalnins (2 months ago)
What CPU you have @Jarrod's Tech?
Jarrod'sTech (2 months ago)
Threadripper 1950X for about a year now.

Depends on the game and resolution, but in most cases, yes the 1060 is perfect for 1080p 60 FPS with high settings in most modern games.

Is this better than the other 3gb 1060s?
Kifter (3 months ago)
Jarrod'sTech hm what I meant was that was this specific 3gb model which is factory over clocked better than the other 3GB models
Jarrod'sTech (3 months ago)
Yes, the 6gb typically performs a bit better than the 3gb, but will depend on the specific game and settings in use.
Spooky Fox (3 months ago)
Everything nice in this video except one thing - next time would you please let us listen sound of the card, how loud she is on a different cooler percentage.
Jarrod'sTech (3 months ago)
I'll do that in future videos, and I have done it in newer ones already, although it's not really accurate as depends on too many factors, such as how far away I have the microphone from it, audio compression in the video, etc.
Mr.DerpZWAterMElonZ (4 months ago)

Jarrod'sTech (4 months ago)
Not that as far as I can tell

Jarrod'sTech you could say ima cheap and dont have much money the rig i use now is less effective than a macbook (i like apple) But if you still got it check if there is a little pci x1 lookig thing on he back or side
Jarrod'sTech (4 months ago)
Yeah I think so, still a really great option for 1080p gaming at good settings 60 fps, although the current rumour is that new nvidia cards will be out in August so could be worth waiting to see what comes of that

*IT IS SOOOOOOOO FUCKING SICK GPU FOR UNDER 400€*
Alluz (5 months ago)
In finland ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 Dual Fan OC (6GB) cost 350€ i will get it in like 3months. my friend have EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6gb and he can run Battlefield 1 all ultra over 80fps in full 64player server and it is so cheap for that performance
Jarrod'sTech (5 months ago)

DINGO KIS (5 months ago)
The AMD RX580 is way better
Jarrod'sTech (5 months ago)
I don't know, I have another video on it and it currently seems to cost a bit more and despite having 8gb memory the 1060 still keeps up.

Jarrod'sTech (5 months ago)
I guess you'd have to run the same benchmarks and try to compare, although there will be other differences such as the CPU so it won't be completely accurate.

Your smart maybe you can help me I just got a new pc and it came with a Radeon rd 580 series but when I check the graphic card my pc is running it says it's running a intel hd 630 and when I checked my device manager it says that I got the 2 drivers is there away to just use the Radeon or is this normal

I honestly don't have any experience running that game, looking at this benchmark at 1080p max settings it seems a little low: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHDMtbxrWgM but probably goes alright if you drop down a little.

Hey +Jarrod'sTech, I purchased ASUS Dual GTX 1060 3GB today and since I connected my graphic card there's white LED above power connector, glowing even when I turn off my PC. I'm writing to You because I saw on video that Yours don't glow, can You tell me how do You menaged that? Thanks!
Teodor Terzić (6 months ago)
Thank You!
Jarrod'sTech (6 months ago)
Yeah I noticed it doesn't seem on in my video, however it is basically on all the time, even while in use and while the PC is powered off (but still plugged in and receiving power). To be honest I didn't think anything of it so haven't looked to see if it can be disabled somehow in software, I'd probably cover it with a small piece of electrical tape if I wanted to quickly block it, not the best solution I know but it's quick and simple.

My asus gtx 1060 fans are loud
Jarrod'sTech (7 months ago)
What temperature is it running at? You could probably turn the fans down if you're ok with it running warmer.
MinerWithBorders (7 months ago)
what processor did you use when you used the card?
Jarrod'sTech (7 months ago)
6700k at stock speed.
Gordon Hawke (7 months ago)
Great information, i was thinking about Msi Gaming X or this.
Jarrod'sTech (7 months ago)
I've heard good things about that MSI card, I haven't tested it myself yet though, both are probably great options 😀

I have this card worth the money (Y) I would like to upgrade my cpu and I want a new motherboard could anyone reccomend any pre built bundles I bought the computer from MSI if thats relevent Price around £ 200 and under Thanks (:
Jarrod'sTech (7 months ago)
No problem! Let me know how it goes 😃
Anton Pym (7 months ago)
Thanks for the information, my case can support ATX so all is good (: Thanks for replying to my post really helped.
Jarrod'sTech (7 months ago)
I'm a bit confused by that posting, it says this is the motherboard: https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/M5A78LMUSB3/specifications/ and according to that it's a micro ATX board, however the picture on Amazon looks like an ATX board. Basically if your case can take ATX/Micro ATX then it should be fine, depending on the actual size of the board.
Anton Pym (7 months ago)
I just want the motherboard and cpu, something like this. https://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-Vishera-M5A78L-M-Motherboard-Pre-Built/dp/B00F454CL4/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1521714219&sr=8-4&keywords=pre+built+cpu+and+motherboard Would this be compatible with msi ??
Jarrod'sTech (7 months ago)
Hmm I'm getting my first MSI pre built PC in a few weeks, so I'll have a review on that soon, but I think it will cost quite a bit more than 200 and not really too sure what other options there are in that price range.

Skrr God (8 months ago)
I'm currently using the Asus GTX 1060 3GB single fan GPU, it works perfectly, runs all the games I play at 150+ FPS on High or Extra High. However, I did a UBM test today and it says that it performs way below the average of this card. Idk what I should do. Any suggestions?
Skrr God (8 months ago)
Yea I usually update my drivers pretty often and my windows updates quite often, I cant remember now but I get 56% performance or whatever it's called for GPU.
Jarrod'sTech (8 months ago)
Yeah understandable, as long as it's performing well for you though it should be good 😃 how much lower results are you getting? I'm guessing you're testing with the latest Nvidia drivers and Windows updates?
Skrr God (8 months ago)
Thanks for the response. It is a pretty good GPU and runs games pretty well like I said, it was just a concern of mine that it underperformed on the UBM test.
Jarrod'sTech (8 months ago)
Probably not much you can do, it all comes down to luck with the silicon lottery regarding how well the actual GPU core will perform, some do better than others unfortunately.
Jean Pierre (8 months ago)
Is this card better than a MSI GTX 1060 6GB Overclocked? NOT the X version (The one with red on it). My GPU has been delayed due to stock but they just got new stock on this GPU. Should I pay for the upgrade?
Jarrod'sTech (8 months ago)
I haven't tested any other 1060s so hard for me to say, I'd suggest checking other benchmarks for that particular card, though generally the differences between different 1060s is minimal.
Do you recommend this one or the GIGABYTE 3GB with 2 fams version (not G1)?
Jarrod'sTech (9 months ago)
Yeah it sucks, not really sure, it depends on lots of factors. Recently the prices of various cryptocurrencies crashed, if they stay low then it may discourage miners from buying GPUs to make a profit, but we'll have to see.
Jarrod'sTech Oh, i got ya... The GPUs are quite expensive these days, cause of mining... Do you know when are the prices going to get lower?
Jarrod'sTech (9 months ago)
Although I haven't tested the other one, I'd probably get which ever I liked the look of more and had a good price, when it comes down to it there isn't generally much performance difference between different cards so long as they have adequate cooling in place.
Raija (9 months ago)
Hi Jarrods I watched this video in hopes that I would be answered this for Arma 3 on Ultra and Squad on Ultra. How ill it run?
Jarrod'sTech (9 months ago)
I haven't personally tested those games as I don't have them, however in general the performance of most 1060s will be pretty close together, maybe only a few FPS difference, so you could just look for benchmarks of those games on the 1060 on YouTube to get an idea, for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9aeKL8kFpM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbP-q68lIiM
Lémon Hâze (9 months ago)
I bought it 288€ in Greece.. It's really good.. I wish to have a back plate in this card! :)
Jarrod'sTech (9 months ago)
Yeah still using it! The price has gone up a bit over the last few months unfortunately. You could probably get a custom backplate added, I've seen some places offering them.
Saif Haitham (9 months ago)
On Amazon it's like 400$,WTF?!
Alias91Six- (9 months ago)
Saif Haitham I found this card for 250
Jarrod'sTech (9 months ago)
No problem!
Saif Haitham (9 months ago)
Ok thanks!
Jarrod'sTech (9 months ago)
Hard to say, I think so, mainly because the cryptocurrency prices lately have been dropping, which may mean over time people stop buying cards and start selling them second hand, but it's really hard to guess or predict, that's just what I think, could be completely wrong!
Saif Haitham (9 months ago)
Will the prices decrease after a couple of months?
Julio Treviño (9 months ago)
You think still work for all the 2018?
Jarrod'sTech (9 months ago)
I think the 1060 will probably be good for lots of games this year, though Volta is meant to be coming sometime in the next few months, nothing official released yet so I'd say the 1060 is still a good option for today and 2018!
swayam bhosale (10 months ago)
Will my tytan G30 meet the conditions of this grahpics card i need a new one .(intel core i7 with 8 gig ram )
Jarrod'sTech (9 months ago)
Does it look like the one in the picture in what I linked, or different? Making space would depend on the case and what's in the way at the end where the graphics card needs to be. If it's solid metal you might be out of luck, unless you want to cut holes.
swayam bhosale (10 months ago)
How would one free extra space.
swayam bhosale (10 months ago)
all i know about it is that its a geforce GTX 760 (192bit)
Jarrod'sTech (10 months ago)
Sorry I meant 2-2.5cm, not 5cm
Jarrod'sTech (10 months ago)
No problem! Do you know what specific model? You could compare the size of that to this one. I'm assuming it's an ASUS model as it's an ASUS PC, so probably this one: https://www.asus.com/au/Graphics-Cards/GTX760DC2OC2GD5/ if this is the right card, it's a little smaller than the 1060, so you'd need about an extra inch or 2-5cm in length free in the case for the 1060.

I think that the Asus Dual Gtx 1060 6gb gddr5 is better than the 3gb version...
Jarrod'sTech (10 months ago)
Depends what you're doing, for example if you're running on higher settings with larger textures then yes the 6gb version will perform better, but then the question becomes is paying the extra worth the additional performance increase.

pepe pecas (11 months ago)
pepe pecas (11 months ago)

could you tell if this is worth invesment if I have i7-4790 and gtx 760. I would like to play on ultra settings newest games and get 60fps is it possibble?
Jarrod'sTech (11 months ago)
Many current games are capable of high-ultra settings at 60 FPS with this card, but that may change in the future as games become more intensive. For current games though it' a good sweet spot for 60 FPS 1080p gaming.

Do you think that graphics card would fit in this case? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004ASW73G/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1511486332&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=rosewill%2Bmicro%2Batx%2Bmini%2Btower&psc=1&th=1
Jarrod'sTech (11 months ago)
The dimensions of the card are 9.53" x 5.12" x 1.69", the case says it supports cards up to 11.8" long, so it should be fine.
Chopstikc (11 months ago)
can I use an AMD cpu with this card?
Doc Lex (7 months ago)
no, dont even try it, your pc could explode
KiniMod (11 months ago)
Yes, you can use AMD Cpu-s with that graphics card
Jarrod'sTech (11 months ago)
+Praise The Dark Moon yeah no problems at all using that combination
maros495 (1 year ago)
o baby now is black friday and this graphic price is 192 € from 250€ i am really going for it
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Wow that's a nice price drop, hope you like it!
PREDATOR3610 (1 year ago)
Hi ordered that GPU But what is the good power source for that GPU
PREDATOR3610 (1 year ago)
Thank you this helped alot =)
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Anything with a 6 pin connector really :p from what I can tell it uses around 120 watts of power, so work out how much the rest of your system needs and build around that. I've seen others online recommending 400w power supplies for builds with this GPU, but it will depend on your other components.
GiannhsD (1 year ago)
this or MSI GTX 1060?
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
I haven't personally used the MSI card, however this video seems to provide a good summary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuRGwwPhY-A Looks like the MSI card is a bit better but also larger.
Huntree (1 year ago)
Will this fit in my x51?
Huntree (1 year ago)
Jarrod'sTech I have a x51 R2 I heard that it was good to have blower graphics card and I figured that the 1060 6gb dual oc would be perfect it doesn't seem to big but I was just wondering if it was possible I have a 330 watt so I'm not worried about power consumption just worried if it will fit or not. Thank you for the reply Iv been struggling trying to figure out if it will fit or not.
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
The Alienware case? Is it the R1 or R2? If so it's interesting that the Dell pages for both doesn't actually list how large the graphics card can be which is odd. According to a random guy on the Internet, the case can take a card 4.73 inches high and 9.5 inches long, so this card would not fit assuming that is correct.

should i get 2 of 1060 3gb or 1070?
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Get the 1070, you can't SLI the 1060s.

Hi I have the same video card, when I compare it with my fire strike results your memory bus clock is set up to 2003 MHz I only get 800 MHz. Any idea how this is possible? Graphicss score on fire strike is 11873 and total is 7977 Kind regards
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
That's quite a bit different, to be honest I'm not really sure why they would differ that much, have you looked through the settings?
Lartsa (1 year ago)
will i notice an actual good difference if i upgrade to this from gtx 750 Ti
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Yeah I think the 1060 will make a noticable difference, some benchmarks show it performing quite a lot better in GTA5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YSJvHhTNkI
Sudden Revelations (1 year ago)
3 GB of video ram is not recommended. The Gtx 1060 struggles at getting high fps in 1080p. Save a few dollars more for a Gtx 1070
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Depends on the game, but yes the price of the 3gb 1060 is a lot higher now due to mining, could be more value to get a higher tier card.
Timothy Locsin (1 year ago)
@jarrod do you think this is better than gtx 1060 msi gaming x 3g?
Timothy Locsin (1 year ago)
Thanks Jarrod!
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
I haven't used it so can't really say, when it comes down to it I don't think there is too much difference based on specs etc, personally I'd just pick which ever looked better assuming similar price.
Yezup (1 year ago)
whats your specs since they weren't listed
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
I did briefly mention them in the video, but basically it's got a 6700K with 16GB of DDR4 memory at 2,133MHz. There's a full video on the system here if you need any further information: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oy7LJZqpnko

I did a full video on the system this card is in here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oy7LJZqpnko
Rohith Nibhanupudi (1 year ago)
Does this card connect using a six pin to six pin connector or six pin to 8 pin?
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Not sure exactly what you mean, the connector on the card is 6 pin, the cable to the PSU would depend on what ever PSU you're using as that's where the cable comes from. With my Corsair HX850i I'm using an 8 pin PSU side to 6+2 pin on the GPU side, with only the 6 pin plugged in.

YUYU [1vs99] (1 year ago)
do you think this gpu with the i5 7400 and 8GB ram will be able to run PUBG on high setting with about 60 to 40 fps?
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Yeah I think so, I'm running a 1080 with a 7 year old X5650 CPU and 12GB RAM and I get around that on medium settings.
ataa. (1 year ago)
same card i'm getting 4 x msaa gta 5 50-40 fps :((
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Oh interesting, what parts of the game? I was mostly doing my benchmarks during the first mission with Franklin where you repo the cars.
giorgi devidze (1 year ago)
does it have SLI function?
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
No, no 1060 cards support SLI, you need a 1070 or higher for that.
James Kew (1 year ago)
great video, you made up my mind on this card. oh and subscribed!
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Nice :) hope you like the card!
does this card comes with double bearings fan?
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
That could still be fine, is it actually throttling due to the heat? If you want to reduce the heat the main options would be to look at either running the card slower, cooling your room better (eg air conditioning) repasting the GPU, or looking at watercooling which probably isn't worthwhile for a 1060.
well thanx for the instant reply☺ i have some issue with this card..during its full load on firestrike ,it reached around 80 celcious ,only in 5 minutes ,and temp kept reaching,... any solutions will be appriciated
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Yeah it does.

is 3gb asus dual fan 1060 more powerful than a 970? does it worth instead of 970? i can get it for the same price. Please reply me
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
I haven't personally tested a 970 so I can't say for sure, however looking at other benchmarks, the 1060 seems to be closer to a 980, so yes it does seem to be better than a 970.

i buy the 6gb version but i hear this video card is noisy is that true ? or is silent ?
iramike (1 year ago)
sure! im just waiting for my card maybe next week i can tell you how works

I'd be interested in hearing what you think of it after you get it, let me know!

Jarrod'sTech thanks so much i get 1060 6gb asus dual oc today i hope was a good chooice because i hear this cards are noisy
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
I'd consider it fairly quiet, I don't really notice it when in use.

Rajesh Soni (1 year ago)
bro which 1060 3gb is better for above 60fps on gta v
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
I'm assuming that's Indian Rupees? Based on the exchange rate that's about $395 AUD, so I'd be looking at a 1060 3GB like this in that price range. I can't really advise on a specific 1060, as this is the only one I've tested so far.
Casper Dehlsen (1 year ago)
6gb
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
That seems even better then, I was assuming 3gb :P
Casper Dehlsen (1 year ago)
I found one for 160 should I buy it (its 6gb)
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
That seems like a crazy good deal if it's new, if second hand still pretty good but I'm not too familiar with used 1060 prices.
Grade E quality (1 year ago)
My gtx 760 2gb died today. Should I upgrade to this? Will it go good with my i5 4440 and my msi b85m-e45 motherboard?
Grade E quality (1 year ago)
Jarrod'sTech Thank you
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
I think it'd be a nice upgrade, the 1060 is pretty good for 1080p 60Hz gaming from my testing. I think it'd be alright with that CPU, depends on how much any particular application or game replies on the CPU though.

One question: Do the fans spin when the card is Idle?
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Any time!
Michael Kristensen (1 year ago)

Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Yeah, they're quite, but they're always spinning on mine.

For a modern PC this is great as a base. Im looking at upgrading as time goes on as you do
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Yeah I agree! Works great in all current games and plan on simply swapping it out in a few years as needed :)
Simju SU (1 year ago)
Great video and nicely detailed information dude :D I'm planning on getting this one but with 6gb. 1.Is the gpu loud while playing games? 2.are the fans of the gpu quiet while in idle mode?, when i'm watching yt or twitch. And my Pc will be right under my Desk. would be great if you could answer my questions :) Keep it up !
Atom M (1 year ago)
Jarrod'sTech fans barely turn on when iddle.
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
No problem, hope you like it!
Simju SU (1 year ago)
Jarrod'sTech alright you convinced me thanks man :) Have a nice day :D
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Hey thanks! I think it will be quiet enough, during idle I didn't notice a thing and even while testing games it wasn't too bad and I had the case on the desk right next to me, I think under a desk it will be fairly quiet.
Aero (1 year ago)
I dont understand why these are so expensive all of a sudden. you used to be able to get this for 200-230$ but now it goes all the way up to 350!!!
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Basically people use GPU power to create different coins, as various online stores take these as payment you can basically make money by running your graphics cards 24/7, as it's profitable graphic cards are high in demand. It happened in 2011-2013 with Bitcoin then died down for a few years, so it might go away, not sure.
Aero (1 year ago)
Jarrod'sTech what exactly is crypto currency mining, and will its ever go back to normal?
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Crypto currency mining, most of the AMD cards got bought out and now they are using Nvidia as they still work alright and make profit.

Going to get my first gaming PC in like a week and i spent a bit more to get this instead of the 1050ti, i just wished the graphic card was black instead of white. Anyways nice review, plain and simple, got over the important stuff, easy peasy, you got a new sub.

Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Hey thanks! Good to hear, yeah I would have liked it to be black too, the rest of the build it's in is black as well but it looks kind of cool to have some white in there I think :) from my testing the 1060 is a nice upgrade over the 1050Ti for 1080p 60Hz gaming too, hope you like it!
Jeff Ebel (1 year ago)
I purchased to use for graphics and my favorite tanking game and Seti in its down time. The card has been flawless and at 5760x1080 with ultra settings for gaming I am getting a average of 65-75 frames per second. Excellent value for what I paid for it and the build quality very good.
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
That's awesome to hear!
Ciki Lord (1 year ago)
What card would you recommend? I bought new 144hz 1080p monitor and now I am looking for a GTX 1060 6GB. Would you recoommend this one from Asus but with 6GB or MSI GaminX or Inno3D iChill one? Thanks.
KiniMod (11 months ago)
If you have the money, you could go with a Gtx 1070 even, cause it would be better paired with a 144hz 1080p monitor...
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
Cool, hope it works out!
Ciki Lord (1 year ago)
Jarrod'sTech In some games it will take advantage and in some not, that's always the case. Will be taking the Msi one ans LG 1080p 144hz monitor. But thanks though :)
Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
To be honest I haven't personally checked out any other 1060's yet so it's hard for me to say, based on what I've read online though the MSI one seems to be pretty decent, so maybe that. I'd probably also look at a 1070 or above if I was pairing it with a 144Hz screen, in my testing the 1060 doesn't get up that high to take advantage of the refresh rate in games unless you turn the settings down a bit.

Jarrod'sTech (1 year ago)
I think that sounds pretty decent, 3.2GHz quad core is pretty decent, and in my testing Kabylake isn't that much better than Skylake so the 6th generation Intel CPUs are still worth considering.
